A-low-Ha!! to macadamia nuts and snorkel aventuras

I’m getting laid. Finally.

Flower lays!!

(Get you mind outtta the gutter.) It’s too early in the morning to even think about the separation anxiety I am going to have this weekend. I will be without the aid of technology, so unless I can telepathically post, you’ll have to use your imaginations as to what what it’s like as sanster hits honolulu. I’ll be visiting my cuzz’in que, and I am so excited to thaw out. Living in nyc is like living in a meat locker.

Don’t forget to root a toot toot for ……D’Ah Kickasssss Bearssssss Midwest Pride, Yo.

Respect! (Say it like Ali G would.)

If only I had photos of me as a young’in in Bears fanwear….sniff sniff. Nothing to share on that front. But for other inspiration…

Please make google eyes at: nachos, buffalo wings, tailgate, punky QB, and fork in eye.

Well, they call me Sweetness, and I like to dance.
Runnin’ the ball is like makin’ romance
We’ve had the goal since training camp
To give Chicago a Super Bowl Champ.
And we’re not doing this because we’re greedy.
The Bears are doin’ it to feed the needy.
We didn’t come here to look for trouble,
We just came here to do
The Superbowl Shuffle.

REPEAT AFTER ME:

….We didn’t come here to look for trouble, We just came here to do The Super Bowl Shuffle.

Over N’ Out…

Singing off in orange and blue (disgust/adoration of the foulest team color combination that is a recurring theme in my life. )

The Solution is You! An Activist’s Guide January 31, 2007

This Speaker’s Corner Book by Laurie David, with forweword by Larry David is a nice little tipsheet on how to stop Global Warming. I found the little pull quotes by celebs, scientists, and journalists to be engaging and practical. From composting, to how to save the polar bears from climate change, this book an easy-to-digest “book that is too hot not to handle.” Apparently “environmentalist” is not a 4-letter word.

Tip of the Day:

Switch to recycled toilet paper:

Seventh Generation sells individual rolls at your nearest green market or Whole Foods type store. You’ll help save trees, landfill space, and water. Your future children will give you a pat on the back. Ok, maybe that’s going a little too far. But, this is one way to take a step in the right generation. Our planet needs some rescue, and you could be the superhero….

from sanster with luv,
Dubya and politicians better heed the warnings.
Bloomberg/hillary/obama/kucinic/edwards/and richardson could really take the time out to think green on a personal level, and on their larger platforms as well. It might make the difference this election.

Who showed and who didn’t? I’m not trying to be be cryptic, but here’s a little advice: if you want to hear the gossip before anyone else, you have to come to my humble little weblog. I know it’s no perez hilton, but I’m workin’ on it. Give a gal some slack.
Sanster.Net …Net…net..net

My day in Grand Central went a bit like this:
1. Display of the S Shuttle promoting Top Design. (That’s the dingy grey train line that matches the the exterior the subway trains.)
2. Meet and greet with Bravo and Top Design Judges and contestants
3. Lunch with editors, designers, and various people from Bravo

The people from the show look like this: (PS: I’m sure they don’t always pose in pyramids unless directed to do so by Jonathon Adler, ((or the art director on the shoot.))

top_design_cast_20.jpg

Today I had lunch with the Bravo camp, along with ALL the possible winners of “TOP DESIGN.” Judges include Margaret Russell from Elle Decor, and designers Todd Oldham and Jonathon Adler. Felicia, an LA-based interior designer and contestant on Bravo’s new Top Design, was to the left of me. Matt, an interior designer from Chicago was to the right of me. Sitting across from me was the Director of Interactive at BRAVO. Bravisimo, indeed (accent on the -i- I don’t do it properly on the blogosphere.) My rissoto, scallops, and molten chocolate tort were DEE-LISH and Top-Chef worthy. (The 1-and-a-half glasses of white wine didn’t help matters.)
Meghan, was there to entertain us all. She also happened to get me a photo with her, Jonathon, Margaret, and Matt. I hope that photo came out well. Thanks again Bravo. Top Design is going to be an amazing show a la Project Runway, minus the models.

The sanster.net ..where reality TV meets the web…”Watch what happens….”

Look out for future posts on why I think the tensions between judges, contestants. design, divas, design-divas, and camera-hoggers, has everything to do with the “GOOD COP, BAD COP” syndrome. The first episode airs Wednesday night after the season finale of Top Chef.

Over n Out ,

How hair is cut to FRINGE

Jacqueline This is my locks of LOVE experience. This is how it goes in pictorial. Here’s my image library:

First grew my hair for a long time. Here’s me in my bathroom when I had long hair:
My bathroom:

My long hair:

Me, long
Longhair,and here it is upHairup_1

Then for the CUT. I went to Fringe Saloon. Check out their site. They cut for Rainer Maria. http://www.fringeny.com/

My STYLIST: Jacqueline

So the hair has to be 10 inches. Then:

,Cut1_1CutHacknow you see it…the CUT..then there’s me holding the hair like it’s a fish I just caught. After that, Maggie, who took these photos, washed my hair.
They measured it with a ruler.

I even managed to have some chamomile tea while Jacqueline talked to that cute client who was next.

Lol_tea

Then I’m going to send the hair to locks of love.

I will bag the hair,

(eweeiiii..hope they don’t mistake it for zombie hair…)

Lol_fringe1

and then send the hair to LOCKS OF LOVE.

http://www.locksoflove.org/

The hair will be made to use wigs for children who have lost their hair for various medical reasons. It’d be different if they didn’t have a choice in what they’re hair looked like long or short…Here’s a photo from their website of a girl who received a wig.

check out DEERHOOF if they come to your town.
the show was great except for the smoke and the obnoxious people making-out and yelling in russian who kept lurching into me. it was a the battle of the languages and show-angst. it was west coast hip hop/jungle mishmash, and hipster olympics all rolled into one. gwen stefani is coming out with a new album. hope she has freed the harujuki girls. dance slavery is cruel, but I cannot front…their outfits are super cute.

Jokes aside, look out for my posts on global warming, and WHAT YOU CAN DO to MAKE A DIFFERENCE

xo, as always adoring fans of all things GREEN. -sanster says teach GREEN.

This book by Laurie David is full of great snippets such as:
Things Go Better with Coke
December 2,2005
Polar bears live in the Arctic and are totally reliant on sea ice, which is vanishing faster than previously expected. For every week of winter lost due to global warming, adult polar bears lose twenty-two pounds because their food supply is so scarce. And thinner bears mean fewer cubs. Starting to get the picture? Not very soft and cuddly, is it?

Penguins face a similar plight. A few years ago, when two giant icebergs broke off the Antarctic ice sheet, it blocked the route from their breeding colonies to their feeding areas. As a result, they had to walk an extra thirty miles to reach food—no small task given that a penguin’s average speed is one mile per hour. Maybe it’s time for corporate America to consider protecting a species that has been such a profitable sales tool.

Sanster.net hook:
–How many films have made these adorable animals the main protagonists?? It’s not just coke, it’s Disney, and merchandisers. The march of penguins is becoming the March of Bhutan. For the sake of the penguins and the polar bears, please act local, think global, and be mean and green. think about your carbon paths, re-use your plastic bags, and think of creative ways to recycle and re-use.

-from my conscience to your computer screen, Sanster

Smokin’ Aces… January 26, 2007

Filed under: 24 hr. applemania, Flicks & Docs & Commentary — sanster @ 3:12 am

San’s Entertainment Weekly E-Newsletter Doo dad:
Smokin Aces was Smokin’ (PS: I can write a negative review of it later.)
Just saw it. Alycia Keys and Common are amazing in this film. If you like Hollywood endings, fast paced editting, Lake Tahoe as a setting, and Jeremy Piven: then go see this film. As you might have guessed it, the latter plays the character of the mastermind prick, who everone in the mafia world is after. The cast includes Ray Liotta, Ben Affleck, and has the same mobster feel as “Ocean’s 11″ or a heist-film attitude as like “Locks, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.” It’s worth checking out to see the crazy punk-ass assasins.

PS: there is a comic as well: http://www.smokinaces.net/comic/
